Absolutely Fantastic
When real life is full of turmoil — as real life definitely is right now — fantasy provides not only escape but also comfort. That brief break from reality really helps. The “Kugelmass Episode” brings up delicious fantasies of literary romantic thrills. And my question to you is: If you could have a romance with any charater in any book, who would you choose and why? We have another story called “The Nose,” a classic nightmare in which something terrible goes wrong, but no one seems to care. Do you have dreams like that? If so, tell us your dream.
I hope you have fun with these questions. We are having fun making this show for you.

I have had a recurrent dream for the past 25 yeaars. The dream could be about anything, but at some point I stuff a lot of bubble gum in my mouth, and when I decide to remove the gum, all my teeth come out with it, and then i WAKE UP IN terror and am alwqays relieved that my teeth are in my mouth, so I think the story about the nose was infinitely understanddable.
It was a windswept night on the moors of … some British Isle. He was on horseback. His cape was billowing, as were her skirts. Was she running away? I don’t remember. He swept her off her feet, cradled her in his lap… whispered m’eudail … something like that. Gaelic for “my darling.”
I don’t remember his name or hers, the title or plot. Never mind. My tummy flip-flopped for the first time; after 30 years, I remember that clearly.
You never forget your first romantic hero. Thanks, Barbara Cartland.
